On January 12, 2016, the inauguration ceremony of the “Japanese Calendar Exhibition 2016” was held at the Japan Information and Culture
Center in the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi. This Exhibition is organized by the Consulate-General of Japan, in collaboration with Pakistan Japan
Cultural Association (PJCA), Sindh and Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF). Her Excellency Sharmila Farooqui, Minister for Culture and Tourism and
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh was the chief guest at this inauguration ceremony.
The Japanese Calendar Exhibition has been held every year since 2009 at the Japan Information and Culture Center.And this year around 130 Japanese
calendars of various features are displayed and they are categorized under specific themes such as traditional and contemporary art, four seasons, cultural
heritage, landscape, architecture, etc. The exhibition will be open from January 13 to 16 to the general public from 10:00 to 16:00, at the Japan Information
and Culture Center. After the Exhibition, the calendars on display will be distributed to the viewers through a lucky draw.
