The Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for Al-Mustafa Medical Center in Karachi

Karachi-The Government of Japan handed over medical equipment worth US$ 66,500 to Al Mustafa Welfare Society for ‘The Project for Provision of Medical Equipment for Al-Mustafa Medical Center in Karachi, Sindh’ under the scheme of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The handing-over ceremony took place at Al-Mustafa Medical Center on Monday, November 26th, 2018 with the presence of Mr. Toshikazu Isomura, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, Mr. Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab, Chairman of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society and Mr. Jameel Hussain, MD FujiFilms Pakistan.
The grant amount has been utilized for the provision of medical equipment, which includes X-Ray machines, flat panel detector and laser printer, in order to improve the situation surrounding healthcare in the city and for people to get an access to better health facilities.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul-General Mr. Toshikazu Isomura said that better quality of healthcare is one of the top priority areas of Japanese assistance to Pakistan. He said that GGP is presently providing timely support to developmental projects, which aims to improve the social well-being of the common people at the grassroots level.
Mr. Isomura hoped that such efforts will also aim to strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and Pakistan and enhance friendly relations. Speaking at the occasion Chairman Al-Mustafa Mr. Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab thanked the people and Government of Japan through the honorable Consul-General for the Grant to Al-Mustafa for the people of Pakistan and ensured that the project will help huge number of people for at least 10 years.
It is pertinent to mention that about 380 GGP projects have been implemented in Pakistan, so far by the Japanese government since 1989.
