Bonsai Exhibition 2018

The 20th Annual Bonsai Exhibition was held from September 14 to 16, 2018 under the auspices of Pakistan Bonsai Society at Nisar Shaheed Park, DHA, Karachi. The opening ceremony was attended by Khawaja Muhammad Mazhar, President of Pakistan Bonsai Society and Mr. Toshikazu Isomura, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi.
Bonsai is a traditional Japanese art from using cultivation techniques to produce small trees in containers that mimic the shape and scale of full size trees. Mr. Isomura was pleased to see this exhibition, where as many as 250 Bonsai plants including Ficus, Tamarind, Chlorodendoren, Hina, Adenium, Fueken Tea and other local plants were presented.
On a final note, Mr. Isomura hopes that such exhibition would contribute to a better understanding of Japanese culture in Pakistan and foster friendship between the two Asian countries.
