Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) for December 7, 2025

Japanese Language Proficiency Test 2025 - Applications Open!            
 

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is held worldwide annually to evaluate the level proficiency of non-native speakers in Japanese language. The Japan Foundation works with local host institutions to administer the test outside Japan. In Pakistan, National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in collaboration with MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP), and the Embassy of Japan, Islamabad arrange the JLPT in Islamabad to facilitate the Japanese Language speakers living in and around the capital. The test is simultaneously held at Japan Information & Cultural Centre, Consulate General of Japan in Karachi with the collaboration of Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA).

Online Registrations for JLPT are to be held in Karachi from August 15 to August 24,  and in-person registrations and submission of application forms of the online registered candidates will be held on August 26 at JICC, Japan Consulate, Karachi.

The Test in Karachi will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Please note, we reserve the right to cancel the examinations in the case of any unforeseen events.

Step 2: In-person Registration: Tuesday, August 26, 2025
 
The selected candidates will be informed through Whatsapp to visit our location with original CNIC, educational documents and fee to submit the application form.

Please note, this whole process needs to be completed by August 26, 2025, for it to be further processed by the authorities and no extension will be given.


 
Pre-requisites for applying to JLPT 2025 (December)
 

• Applicant must be in principle a non-native speaker of the Japanese language.
• Applications are open from August 15 till August 24 for online registrations and August 26, 2025, for in-person registrations.
• APPLICATION FORM FEE: PKR 100 (in cash only).
• TEST FEE: For all levels: PKR. 3000 (in cash only).
• COLOURED PHOTOGRAPHS- 2 of applicant not more than 6 months old (3cm x 3cm in size).

 
For obtaining and submission of application in Karachi (JLPT will only be held in December)
