The Consulate General of Japan in Karachi is seeking to fill a vacant post of Public Information and Cultural Section Assistant.
Table of Contents
1. Key responsibilities:
- Media coordination and liaison with media house.
- Support organizing and coordinating cultural events such as film screenings, concerts, art exhibitions, Japanese language speech contests, etc. (conducting all logistical arrangements, including securing venues, serving as liaison with partner organizations, coordinating event publicity, etc.).
- Prepare press releases in English, draft speech, talking points, and schedule appointments for diplomats.
- Carry out other logistical and administrative duties as assigned.
2. Requirements:
- Applicants should hold a bachelor’s/advanced degree (please indicate your GPA or percentage marks).
- English Proficiency (an IELTS score of 8 or higher (or equivalent) is strongly preferred).
- Urdu proficiency and Japanese proficiency (JLPT N3 or higher is strongly preferred).
- Computer literacy (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and willingness to work as a team.
- Ability to properly summarize, analyze, and explain articles or texts in English (possess an objective point of view).
Other requirements and ideal candidate profile:
- Responsible figure with high integrity and honesty.
- A person with knowledge of and passion for Japan in general, including Japanese culture.
- The role requires careful document preparation, the ability to prioritize multiple projects, and effective task management to meet deadlines.
3. Expected Start Date:
Tuesday, July 1 (subject to change depending on the progress of the procedure).
