Signing Ceremony for “The Project for the Provision of Medical Equipment for Jam-e-Shafa Clinic in Quetta” for Jam-e-Shafa Organization

 
The Government of Japan has granted USD 36,109 to the Jam-e-Shafa Organization for “The Project for the Provision of Medical Equipment for Jam-e-Shafa Clinic in Quetta” under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The grant contract was signed on October 4, 2024, between the Consul General of Japan, Mr. HATTORI Masaru, and the President of the Jam-e-Shafa Organization, Dr. Mir Waiz.
The grant has been provided by the government and people of Japan for the medical equipment for the Jam-e-Shafa Clinic at Quetta.
The Jam-e-Shafa Organization was established in 1992 and has been providing free and quality medical services across Balochistan since then, with a focus on maternal and child healthcare for those particularly in need of assistance in Quetta.
The grant covers the cost of medical equipment such as ultrasound machine, vital signs monitor, gynecological electric bed, operation light, cardiotocography (CTG), oxygen concentrator, sterilizer, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and storage battery, all aimed at providing better medical care to save the lives of people in Quetta.
Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Mr. HATTORI expressed his appreciation for the work being done by organizations such as the Jam-e-Shafa Organization in fulfilling health sector initiatives for residents in Pakistan who need support. He hopes that grants for such projects will be able to assist the people of Pakistan for many years to come.
The President of Jam-e-Shafa, Dr. Mir Wais, echoed the Consul General’s sentiments and personally expressed gratitude on behalf of the philanthropic community in Pakistan to the people of Japan for their continued support and friendship in improving the lives of those who need assistance the most in Pakistan.
The GGP is a grant from the government and people of Japan for development projects aimed at improving human security at the grassroots level. The grant provides timely support to local NGOs and directly benefits the people of Pakistan. It is expected that this support will further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Japan and Pakistan.
Japan has funded more than 400 projects in Pakistan under the GGP program since 1989, and this is the 34th GGP project implemented by the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi since 2009.
