Unveiling Ceremony of the Mural Project at National Institute of Child Health (NICH) on 26th November, 2022

On 26th November, 2022, Pakistan Japan Culture Association held the unveiling ceremony of the Mural Project at National Institute of Child Health.
 
Over the Wall Global Mural Project was implemented in Karachi by PJCA-Sindh in collaboration with National Institute of Child Health supported by Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi and Pakistan Japan Business Forum as one of the projects commemorating the 70th anniversary of Japan and Pakistan Diplomatic Relations.
 
Amongst the many people who were present at the unveiling ceremony, included the Consul General of Japan in Karachi Mr. ODAGIRI Toshio, Mr. Nasir Saleem Saddal, Executive Director, National Institute of Child Health, President of Pakistan Japan Culture Association, Ms. Saadia Rashid and, the 1st Vice-President of PJCA, Mr. ATAKA Shigeyuki, President of Pakistan Japan Business Forum, Mr. Kalim Farooqui and Mr. Faisal Edhi, head of Edhi welfare organization.
 
Mr. ODAGIRI, the Consul General of Japan in Karachi, also gave a speech at the opening ceremony, appreciating the great, coordinated efforts by every individual and organization that enabled the successful completion of the Mural Project.
 
Over the wall is a Global project lead by a famous mural artist of Japan, Mr. Kensuke Miyazaki. He and his team decided to paint a sea turtle to promote the fundamental theme, which the image depicts, ‘Safety, Protection and Hope’. The theme speak minds of the children who need safety and protection to be able to hope for a better future.
 
‘Over the Wall’ has been the success of closely coordinated efforts of various groups and organizations coming together as a team, including the child patients, doctors and other staff members of NICH, fellow members of Pakistan Japan Culture Association, staff members of Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi, participation from over 300 children and adults.
