On August 30, 2024, a Book Handover Ceremony of the "READ JAPAN PROJECT” by The Nippon Foundation took place at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), facilitated by the Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi.
 
The donated books encompassed a wide array of subjects including politics, international relations, economics, business, social science, culture, literature, and history. The READ JAPAN PROJECT aims to offer diverse collection of Japanese books in English language to educational and research institutions worldwide. Moreover, this initiative serves to foster a better understanding of Japan and enhance the interaction and educational exchanges among scholars both within the region and beyond.
 
Consul General of Japan, Mr. HATTORI Masaru introduced the book donation project, provided an overview of the history of Japan-Pakistan relations, and expressed his keen interest in further enhancing the relationship between the Consulate and IBA.
 
Dr. Akbar Zaidi, the Executive Director of IBA, delivered a dialogue on the importance of written word, a precious repository of accumulated human knowledge, offering insights into past wisdom, diverse perspectives, and different worlds.
