2017/7/21

On July 20, 2017, Mr. Toshikazu ISOMURA, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, hosted a reception to celebrate Mr. Shigeyuki ATAKA, a former senior staff of the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi (presently First Vice President of the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association (PJCA), Sindh) for his receiving The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays. He was awarded by the Government of Japan on April 29, 2017, in recognition of his service at the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi for a long term to promote cultural exchanges and friendly relations between Japan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Mr. Shigeyuki Ataka had served diligently and earnestly for its culture section and the Japan Culture Center in Karachi for a long term, and contributed to the development of the Pakistan-Japan relationships through facilitating and implementing a number of cultural events to introduce Japan to Pakistan. Such a devotion and achievement to popularize Japanese culture in Pakistan has resulted in promoting the mutual understandings between these two countries, which has become a basis of their today’s strong friendship.
