Japanese Consul-General’s Official Visit to the interior Sindh
The Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, Mr Akira Ouchi made an official visit to Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Jamshoro and District
from November 17 to 18, 2014.
On November 17, 2014, Consul-General Mr. Ouchi visited Mirpukhas, to deliver a lecture on “Bilateral Relations between Japan and Pakistan” to
the members of the Rotary Club of Mirpurkhas, as the Chief Guest. About 60 members from the Rotary Club of Mirpurkhas and other branches of
Rotary Club members attended the lecture. Mr. Anwar Mehtab, the President of Rotary Club of Mirpurkhas, expressed his sincere gratitude to the
Consul-General Mr. Ouchi for visiting Mirpurkhas, and delivering a very informative lecture to the members of the Rotary Club of Mirpurkhas.
Consul-General Mr. Ouchi also delivered a lecture at the University of Sindh, Mirpurkhas Campus on “Education System of Japan”. Over 100 students
and faculty members of the University attended the lecture. On this occasion, DVDs in regard to studying in Japan, elementary school daily life
and speedy cleaning technique of the bullet train, shinkansen, was shown. Prof. Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh,
expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Ouchi for delivering very interesting lecture in which students and faculty members of the University of Sindh
were able to gain insightful and comprehensive knowledge in regard to educational system of Japan.
On November 18, 2014, Consul-General Mr. Ouchi visited Jamshoro, to deliver a lecture at Far East & Southeast Asia Area Study Center, University
of Sindh, on “Japan’s Foreign Policy”. About 70 students and faculty members attended the lecture. The audience keenly listened to Mr. Ouchi’s lecture
and a lively question and answer session ensued, in which audiences’ interests were mainly related to Japan’s current foreign policies and Japan and Pakistan’s
bilateral relations. Prof. Dr. Hamadullah Kakepoto, Director of Far East & Southeast Asia Area Study Center, expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Ouchi
for delivering very valuable lecture in which students and faculty members were able to embroaden their knowledge in regard to Japan’s foreign policy
and Japan and Pakistan’s bilateral relations. Also on this occasion, Consul-General Mr. Ouchi visited the Institute of Sindhology.
