Japanese Emperor’s 79th Birthday Celebrated in Karachi
On 20th December, 2012, the Consul General of Japan at Karachi, Mr. Akira
Ouchi and Mrs. Junko Ouchi hosted a grand reception to celebrate the birthday
of His Majesty the Emperor Akihito, who will be 79 years old on 23rd December,
2012. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister of Sindh, Mr. Muzaffar Ali Shajra, was
the chief guest on behalf of the Chief Minister, Qaim Ali Shah, at the event that
was also attended by Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuro,
provincial ministers, diplomats, businessmen, parliamentarians, government
officials and other prominent figures.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Akira Ouchi reiterated his appreciation to warm
sympathy and generous support from the Pakistani people after the Great East
Japan Earthquake on 11th March, 2011 and referred to the recent decision of the
Japanese Government to extend assistance to the flood disaster in Pakistan in
2012. He also stated that as this year commemorates the 60th anniversary of
diplomatic relationship between Japan and Pakistan, he will make utmost efforts
to further promote the friendly relationship between the two countries.
Mr. Muzaffar Ali Shajra congratulated His Majesty the Emperor Akihito on His
